Good Morning!
Good Morning!

I've made some changes: new format and some comments about nudity on the info page. Since you're the founding members, you get to decide what's happening here. If you don't like the style, please suggest another one. Also, I need help coming up with a list of interests, which is often how people find communities. Suggestions cheerfully added to the now non-existent (but growing soon) list.

And just so this isn't text only, here's a Pear's soap ad from Munsey's Magazine, date unknown, but after 1901. I have most of the magazine, so if you like this kind of thing, I'll post more.

Edit: If you want to read the text, click on the picture. It will take you to my gallery. Then click on the picture again. The image that comes up is huge, but you can read the charming doggerel in the ad. Who know you could rhyme "open" with "soap"?

Not quite 50 years old (not even 40, sigh), but just a sign of goodwill and best wishes for this community's success. My dad swampynoladad and my brother swampytad, hiking near Kusadesi, Turkey, in 1972. Now my brother is a dad, and his sons look just like he did.

No date. He was born in 1899. Pretty classy, huh?

Granma and Aunts
Granma and Aunts

The woman in the middle is my paternal grandmother and she's flanked by her daughters, Lena and Josie. They came to America with all the immigrants in 1914, getting in months before World War 1 began. I don't know the date of this photo - anyone better than I with fashions? Both girls were born around 1900.

Welcome! You might be the first poster - it took all my time today to get this set up. But I'll be back...
